5Awesome Network Audio System!
By E. Laneville
This little gem is the perfect radio for a small room where you want to stream your home network audio or play music from your iPod/iPhone. It connects to your home network via either a Wired or Wireless connection and gives you access to all the network's shared music servers (DLNA). It can also act as a DLNA renderer, letting you control the unit from your PC ("Play To" in Windows Media Player) or smartphone.

Sound quality is impressive for a small unit like this, with surprisingly rich bass.

There's a stereo jack in the back for Auxiliary Input in case you need to connect another type of MP3 player to it, or a non-iPod smartphone.

The "Music Services" are very impressive. The unit can connect to Slacker, an internet radio service similar to Pandora, and vTuner, another service that offers hundreds of free internet radio stations from all over the world. The unit's menu system makes it easy to find radio stations by music genre or even by country.

Boot-up time is perhaps a little slow, it takes the unit about 15 seconds to connect to a Wireless network and start streaming music. When you turn off the unit, it remembers your last source and will resume playback when it is turned on again.

I've experienced a problem with the unit "waking up" my home network's NAS (on which my music is stored) using the Wake-on-LAN feature but it's been intermittent. I brought it up with Sony's online support (via e-mail) and got a response within 12 hours, so you can count on good and quick support from Sony if you need it.

4pretty good
By Nuwan Samaranayake
It is a pretty good device for what it can do. It supports pandora which has a great collection of music. It sounds good for its size. Only issue I have with it so far is the start up time. It is not quick. Also the network setup and registration with music services took some effort. But once it is configured, it is working very well.

I love SONY products! It perfectly works with our Sony HomeShare Network Speaker, SA-NS400. Built-in wireless capabilities make it simple to stream music from your mobile device, computer, home theater system and more to any area of your house—so wherever you get Wi-Fi, you can get music.
