3Nice unit, won't work with any iPhone case
By Eric W. Wainwright
This is a really nice, solid unit from JBL. However, it won't work with any case on your iPhone. The lightning connector is just too short.

4Sound from this dock is good...
By Rob S.
I ordered this iphone 5 docking station because JBL has a decent rep for sound, and I didn't want a huge dock/charger. I don't really have a "case" on my phone, just one of those edge protectors...so my phone fit fine onto the lightning plug.

Controls are pretty simple on the dock.. "On/Off button, volume up and down, and mute. Has a little blue LED that gives you status reports (dock batteries dying, unit on, but that's about it).

If you're looking to have a dock that's not too conspicuous, this one may fit the bill...but be aware that the wall plug is roughly half the size of the dock itself (which means it ain't too small).

Come on people, I am tired of having power supplies that are bigger than the unit they are powering! Put an extra couple bucks in to the manu-process and give me a switched-mode power supply, and knock down the size of the transformer. (Heck, Apple did it with my iPad charger!)

But I digress. Aside from the big power supply, the JBL speakers give pretty decent sound (I'm using mine in the bathroom, so acoustics are going to be different than if you try and use this out on your deck).

The only other thing to be wary of, is that the dock holds your phone by it's lightning connector (well, with a little rubberized bar to support the back, near the bottom of the phone as well). It's stable, as long as you aren't trying to change apps or are otherwise messing with the phone's screen very much. You just have to be kind of careful with it.

5Amazing Sound. Beautiful Design. And It's Portable!
By S. M. Fisher
This thing is gorgeous, and it SOUNDS gorgeous. I bought this mainly to listen to iTunes or Pandora on my iPhone 5 while getting ready in the morning, but with it being able to run for 5 hours on batteries, I'm excited about unplugging it and taking it out on the deck with me when I go outside to work or read. I can already see taking this on business trips . . . or even better, on picnics by the lake.

I've tried it out with everything from Led Zeppelin to George Michael to Beethoven. It's just flat out awesome.

(And with the sleek, thin iPhone casing I've got, it actually plugs in just fine as is. I think it has more to do with how wide the opening in the case is down by the plug than with how thick the case is. In any event, it's perfect with what I've got. No need to take my iPhone cover off.)
